Alessandro Trincone (born May 6 1991 in Naples) is an Italian fashion designer and owner of the brand that bears his name. After graduating in 2012 in Costume and Fashion Studies at the University of “ La Sapienza” in Rome , he moves to Florence where successfully achieves a master at the European Institute of Design (IED) and later his second graduation at the “Polimoda” in Fashion design. Eventually he receives a scholarship at the Osaka Bunka Fashion College in Japan where he finds his authentic inspiration.

Growing up in the outskirts of Naples where people around him look at his creativity with strong scepticism is not easy but that hostility only makes his artistic impulse stronger. Indeed all the prejudices towards him and his creations endured during his teenage years are dragged into his art and beautifully transformed. That process becomes vital and it is where the concept of “genderless” come from.

Using typically feminine fabrics like chiffon, silk and tulle on men becomes his eccentric and recognisible sign. In 2016 he wins the “Vfiles Runway 7” contest in New York displaying his first official collection “Annodami”. On that occasion, he catches the eye of the Atlanta rapper Young Thug who chooses a particular piece of that collection for the cover of his album “No my name is Jeffery”. The photo of the singer posing severely in a skirt-like garment and an umbrella-shape hat inspired by Japanese kimonos and trousers, shared on the Internet just before his album release, causes controversy whirls around the world since the outfit is considered, specially in the black community, too feminine and far from the black rap culture. The cover becomes iconic while the controversial skirt the finest expression of the “blurrred –lines between genders” concept. “Annodami” is followed by “Abbracciami” and “Agendermi” collections in 2017 and “Aroundmi” in 2018. Among the contests won, Fashionclash Festival 2016 in Maastricht, Fashionhall 2017 in Berlin and Charity Fashionshow 2017 in Cambridge stand out. With his Spring Summer 2019, he starts to show during the official New York Fashion Week.
